The first page you will want to add to a blank notebook is a new top-level page.
This is a page that has no parent page. Every notebook with pages will need at least
one top-level page.
You can add a new top level page by right-clicking anywhere on the Notebook tab
surface and selecting
Page -> New Top-level Page. You can also use the
hotkey
Ctrl+Enter. Just be sure the Notebook tab has focus. To move focus
to the Notebook tab, you can click on the Notebook tab with the mouse or press the
hotkey
Ctrl+Space until the left frame is highlighted by the highlight
border. The
Ctrl+Space hotkey jumps focus between the Notebook tab, Editor
frame and the Find tab when it is visible.
After adding a new top-level page you will see a new entry in your Notebook outline
named "New Page."
